My approach as a clinical psychologist

Beyond words encapsulates my approach to therapy. The models I use in my practice emphasise the proactive or ‘doing’ and ‘moving towards’ aspects of therapy over the traditional ‘talking’ part, helping you make real changes towards your goals.

Whether it’s CBT or EMDR therapy, my work aims to enable you to notice the moments when you get hooked on thoughts and feelings and implement effective techniques to ‘nip things in the bud’.

Online CBT and EMDR practice

We have seen a lot of changes in people’s lives over the last few years, and it’s no different with therapy. Online therapy was relatively new before 2020 but surged in popularity through necessity in the lockdowns during the global pandemic.

There’s been a lot of speculation about the effectiveness of online compared to in-person therapy. However, research shows that online therapy for individuals and couples can be just as effective as in-person therapy for various mental health conditions including depression, panic, and anxiety disorders. With its effectiveness, accessibility, and convenience, online CBT and EMDR are here to stay.
