About Beyond Words

‘Beyond words’ encapsulates my approach to therapy. The models I use in my practice emphasise the proactive or ‘doing’ and ‘moving towards’ elements of therapy over the traditional ‘talking’ part, helping you make real change towards your goals. Both CBT and ACT share their present goal-oriented focus. EMDR aims to clear out any obstacles you may encounter (from past experiences) preventing you from being the person you want to be. My work aims to enable you to notice the moments when you get hooked on thoughts and feelings and implement certain techniques to ‘nip things in the bud’. In essence, to help you become your own therapist.

Professional development is at the core of my practice and I strive to keep up-to-date with evidence-based practice by formal training and informal reading/research. My approach to therapy is guided by ‘what we know that works’ without neglecting your understanding of your problem and own resources.
